JTC Furniture Group
gains ISO9001 and ISO14001

JTC Furniture Group has been accredited with ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification for its cabinet production in recognition of the high quality and environmental care which goes into the manufacture of its kitchens for the social housing, private development and retail kitchen markets.
Pictured is Sam Glenn of NQA, the accreditation company handing over the certificates to JTC’s ISO Team Leader, Valerie Ritchie and Quality and Environmental Coordinator, Murray Grant.  Sam was very complimentary about the JTC manufacturing process and was amazed at the size of the operation designed specifically for the manufacture of kitchens at the rate of one average sized kitchen every two minutes. He commented, “JTC have embraced the processes involved in meeting the requirements of ISO certification and have correctly taken full advantage of every opportunity to ensure they maximise quality with minimum environmental impact.”
Valerie Ritchie was amazed at the thoroughness of the inspection, “We have always worked to our internal quality and environmental policies which were comprehensive but I never realised that our process were so intricate until we started writing them into a format recognised by NQA to comply with the requirements of ISO certification.”
JTC Furniture Group now have a full programme of quality and environmental targets to achieve for 2010, which will be led by Murray Grant who will coordinate a series of activities which focus on ever improving productivity through enhanced quality procedures and efficiency through improved preventative maintenance and materials quality inspections. “I relish this opportunity to get fully immersed into the required levels of measurement, routines and inspections which are required to maintain our position as a leading kitchen supplier.”
JTC are working as members of the Business Environmental Partnership who were the consultants involved in attaining these accreditations and they will be involved in a full range of future environmental initiatives centred on the construction of a waste to heat plant at the factory.
